Teachings will be held at Pancho and Susy Aranda's home. Teaching time - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm with a break for lunch. This special system of astrology-divination comes from the root text of the Kalachakra. It became very popular in Tibet among lay practitioners and was relied upon to address illness, misfortune, healing, etc. It is still used in Bhutan, Sikkim, and Nepal. The Lhamo Gyed-Tsi uses astrology to determine the cause of a problem, then gives methods to address them. They involve simple rituals that can be done by all practitioners. Lama Dawa Rinpoche will translate from the text and give detailed instructions on how to use this system.

Drub-Chen Retreat

Fleischmanns, NY
October 16-29, 2010
Location: The Highlands Inn, 923 Main St., Fleischmanns, NY, 12430

Drub-Chen Retreat!

Oct. 16 - 29, 2010
Fleischmanns, New York

Lama Dawa Rinpoche will be leading a two-week 'great accomplishment' retreat for Orgyen Khandro Norlha, the wealth aspect of Padmasambhava.

This two-week 'Drubchen' (great accomplishment practice) of the practice of 'Lama Orgyen Khandro Norlha', called "The Fertile Shower of Fulfilling All Wishes', is a tantric rite from the Dudjom Ter. It is a powerful method for capturing the essential wealth of all of samsara and nirvana by means of the Guru, the God of Wealth, known as Orgyen Norlha.

Orgyen Norlha is the inner aspect of Guru Tsokye Dorje, the Guru of the Three Roots of the Dudjom lineage. This practice is especially effective for capturing, restoring and increasing the energy of 'yang' or wealth. Wealth in this sense not only refers to monetary wealth, but to anything that has value in our lives - the richness of vibrant health, nutritious food, clean environments; the prosperity that comes from the creative forces of the universe, the richness of friendship and community, the wealth that comes from inner peace and happiness, as well as material prosperity. As the world is now plunging deeper into economic crises and hardship, the need to to strengthen yang and restore lost yang is greater than ever!

Lama Dawa Rinpoche lead the two-week drubchen of Black Hayagriva, 2008.

For this drubchen, we will be preparing and consecrating specially made Treasure Vases that are filled with precious substances. These treasure vases have been prepared according to the traditional texts, under Lama Dawa Rinpoche's supervision, including arrangements in Nepal to make 'yang' pills that contain hundreds of precious and rare substances that have been collected by great lineage masters. These pills will be placed inside the Treasure Vases along with other substances that are related to the generation of wealth energy.
We are currently making 125 vases. Each practitioner involved in the Drubchen will receive one Treasure Vase and the rest of the vases will be available for purchase after the Drupchen for $350.

A prototype of the treasure vases that are being made. The 'eight auspicious symbols' are inscribed on the sides. Treasure vases serve as the 'ten' or container for the wealth energy.

If you are unable to attend the Drubchen, but would like to acquire a Treasure Vase, you can reserve your vase ahead of time for $300. If you are interested in reserving a Treasure Vase, please contact Kunzang. Remaining vases will be available for purchase for $350 after the Drubchen.

Treasure vases are traditionally placed on the shrine, or a special treasure box under the shrine. They are instrumental for energetically holding the wealth energy in the home and preventing wealth energy from leaking out. For those who's yang energy has become broken or scattered, properly prepared treasure vases are often prescribed as a remedy to restore one's yang, or the yang of a family. Every monastery has its own treasure box with various types of treasure vases that have been prepared by lineage masters. They are believed to be a vital instrument for assuring the financial stability of the monastery.

Arrangements were made in Nepal to make the pills, which include over 150 precious substances, relics, and other rare ingredients. Each pill is then wrapped with yellow silk fabric that was used to drape the sacred Buddha statue in Kushinagra.

You must plan to arrive before noon on Oct. 16 for room assignments and to complete the registration process.

Rinpoche will begin with an empowerment, at 2:00 on Oct. 16. The retreat starts evening of Oct. 17 and ends at noon on Oct. 29.
